“Little Feet”:
Every other day, I can see a caravan of little feet stomping onto the playground which is next to our house. Quickly checking that no one’s missing, the ladies agree to open Pandora’s box, and the kids, released from their marching order, swarm all about the place. For some time, there’s a lot of shouting and hollering and pushing and kicking, Leo throwing sand at Sarah, Anna pushing Paul from the swing, Justin running like mad, Max pulling Jennifer’s hair.
„Okay, everybody, let’s make a circle and sing a song! Leo, Anna, we’re making a circle! Paul, a circle! Leo, quick! Sarah, you’re listening to me? We’re making a circle!“
„Are we making a circle?“
„Yes, Anna, we’re making a circle.“
This one goes out to the teachers in schools and nursery schools, because they are doing such a great job.
I can hardly think of anything more important and respectable than providing our young ones with a decent education, and it completely beats me why their salaries aren’t the best in the country and their esteem the greatest possible. If it were up to me, they would be awarded the Golden Eagle of Patience and Loving Devotion!
As one of my earliest mousographs, which originated from a detail sketch for a painting, this picture is still very much on the graffiti side. It’s different from my later mousographs, very basic, but I remain convinced that it doesn’t want any degree of sophistication.
“Kleine Füße”:
Immer wieder sehe ich aus meinem Fenster, wie eine Karawane kleiner Füße auf dem nebenan gelegenen Spielplatz ankommt. Nach einer raschen Kontrolle, dass niemand fehlt, erlauben die Betreuerinnen, dass die Büchse der Pandora sich öffnet: Die Zweierreihen lösen sich auf und ein Schwarm überfällt das Gelände. Es wird gekreischt und gebrüllt und geschubst und getreten. Leo bewirft Sarah mit Sand, Anna stößt Paul von der Schaukel, Justin rennt wie ein Irrer, Max zieht an Jennifers Haar.
„Herhören, alle! Wir machen jetzt einen Kreis und singen ein Lied! Leo, Anna, wir machen einen Kreis! Paul, einen Kreis! Leo, los, los! Sarah, hörst du mich? Wir machen einen Kreis!“
„Machen wir einen Kreis?“
„Ja, Anna, wir machen einen Kreis.“
Dieser Beitrag ist den Lehrkräften in Schulen und Kindergärten gewidmet, weil sie so einen tollen Job machen.
Ich kann mir kaum etwas Wichtigeres und Respektableres vorstellen als die Aufgabe, unsere Kinder mit einer guten Erziehung auszustatten, und es ist mir schleierhaft, wieso die Vergütung der Erzieherinnen und Erzieher nicht landesweit die beste ist und ihr Ansehen das allerhöchste. Wenn es nach mir ginge, würden sie mit dem Goldenen Adler der Geduld und Liebevollen Zuwendung ausgezeichnet!
Dieses Bild ist eins meiner frühesten Mousographs und war ursprünglich als Detail für ein anderes Bild konzipiert; der Graffiti-Charakter ist sehr ausgeprägt, und ich könnte mir gut vorstellen, es auf der Mauer eines Hinterhofs zu sehen.
